About
the Erie Diocese Cursillo Movement:
The Cursillo Movement in the Diocese of Erie, Pennsylvania is open to men and
women of all faiths. It has been
active since 1963. Our first
Cursillo was held in the basement of St. Michael Church in Erie on Thanksgiving
Weekend. Since then we have held
over 200 men’s and 200 women’s Cursillos. We
are active in Erie, Crawford, Elk/Cameron, Mercer and Venango/Forest/Clarion
counties.

What is an Ultreya?
Ultreya comes from the
Spanish word meaning, “go further” or “go higher.”
It
is social and spiritual gathering to renew and strengthen our Cursillo and
Christian spirit by being around fellow Cursillistas. Ultreyas are usually held once a month
at a parish in the Diocese. Erie County Ultreyas are usually held the
first Friday of each month at Our Lady of Peace Parish in Erie. Crawford
County Ultreyas rotate parishes.

You will be sponsored by a current Cursillista.

Why
do I need to have a sponsor?

By
making a Cursillo weekend and knowing someone you consider to be a good
candidate.
What
should I know before working a Cursillo?
Besides being a Cursillista, you need to know nothing!! Just bring a smile and
an open heart. Contact the Cursillo
office or the Cursillo Team Coordinator become part of a team.
